Mindfulness courses for carers

Caring with Compassion

Caring for others is rewarding. It can also be demanding and stressful. However much we love those for whom we have the responsibility of care, it is important to find some balance between prioritising others’ needs and looking after our own health. Over time, an inability to do so can result in a break-down in our own health and well-being, thereby undermining our ability to care for those in our charge.

Our Mindfulness course for Carers is over 6 weeks, comprising sessions of 2 hours. It is an opportunity to learn practices which you can use on a daily basis to help prevent the ‘burn-out’ that can be part of long-term caring. If your local carers’ association or project would like us to deliver this course in your local community, please contact us for availability and fees. Similarly, if you yourself are a carer and have friends in a similar position, do contact us to see how we can help.

New!

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council Carer’s Project has contracted Breathworks Cardiff to provide a ‘Caring with Compassion’ course in January 2011. The six week, twelve hour course will be delivered at the Muni Arts Centre in Pontypridd. We are delighted to have formed this working relationship and look forward to our specially designed course being adopted by an increasing number of carers’ organisations over the coming months.
